A little about me...

I am a junior at the University of Florida in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. I also have a minor in English which I have used to advance my writing and communication skills as well as to learn about diverse cultures through literature. Learning more about diverse cultures is what inspired my participation in the College of Nursing's study abroad trip to Grenada. I wanted to experience what the career of Nursing looks likes in an international context and  also experience healthcare in a developing nation. From being exposed to the public health realm of nursing through this study abroad trip, I have determined that I would like to pursue public health as the first step in my nursing career. I am excited about opportunities to form relationships within my community and empower individuals to improve their quality of life through their health as a nurse.

Outside of school I enjoy spending time in nature--whether that be hiking, biking, or kayaking. I love making music with my friends, you will often find me drumming on a djembe or singing a tune with the worship team at my church. I like meeting new people and hearing about other's lives and experiences. I hope to continue to travel and use my career in Nursing and my passion for people to learn more about healthcare abroad and in the US, so as to improve access to quality healthcare on a global scale.
